Autotask PSA / Datto
Autotask PSA is a mid-market MSP PSA platform, now under Kaseya/Datto, with strong backup ecosystem fit, headquartered in Norwalk, Connecticut.
Overview
Autotask is one of two heavyweights in the mid-market MSP PSA segment alongside ConnectWise. Both have mature workflows and deep ticketing, time tracking, and invoicing capabilities. Autotask’s distinguishing strength is its tight integration with the Datto backup, disaster recovery, and endpoint security stack — making it the natural pick for MSPs already invested in the Datto/Kaseya ecosystem. Founded 2001 and based in Norwalk, Connecticut.
When to pick Autotask PSA
Autotask is the right choice for mid-market MSPs (25-200 technicians) already using Datto backup and DR products who want unified PSA tooling without separate integrations. For MSPs not on Datto, ConnectWise is the alternative. For small MSPs and break-fix shops under 25 technicians, Atera offers per-technician pricing that scales better at the low end.
