WennSoft
WennSoft is a Microsoft Dynamics-based FSM platform for HVAC, plumbing, elevator, and mechanical contractors managing complex service contracts.
WennSoft overview
WennSoft is a field service management solution built natively on Microsoft Dynamics ERP, serving mechanical service contractors in the elevator, HVAC, plumbing, and commercial construction trades. The company is headquartered in New Berlin, Wisconsin, and has operated in the Dynamics ecosystem for decades — long enough that “WennSoft” is essentially synonymous with “Dynamics-based field service” in the elevator and mechanical contractor market.
The core value proposition is tight ERP integration. Service contracts, work orders, dispatching, and mobile technician activity all live inside the same Dynamics database as accounting, payroll, and inventory. Contractors on Dynamics who add WennSoft get FSM capability without the ongoing data reconciliation overhead that comes with connecting a standalone FSM platform to an ERP via API.
Who it’s built for
WennSoft makes the most sense for mid-to-large mechanical contractors — typically 20 or more technicians — already running Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, Dynamics GP, or Dynamics 365 F&O. The elevator contractor segment is particularly well served: WennSoft handles the service agreement billing, preventive maintenance scheduling, and equipment asset tracking that elevator operations require, all within the Dynamics environment that many larger elevator companies already use for their back office.
For smaller contractors or those not on Dynamics, WennSoft is not the right fit. The implementation complexity and Dynamics licensing requirements make the total cost of ownership considerably higher than cloud-native alternatives like Jobber, Housecall Pro, or FieldEdge.
When to choose WennSoft (and when not to)
Choose WennSoft when: your organization already runs Microsoft Dynamics, you manage complex multi-year service contracts, and you want FSM data in the same ERP where your finance team works. Avoid WennSoft if you’re not on Dynamics, if you need a fast cloud-native deployment, or if your operation has fewer than 20 technicians and simpler service workflows.
Pros
- Native Dynamics integration — no middleware or sync layer required
- Strong service contract and preventive maintenance capabilities
- Handles complex billing arrangements (cost-plus, flat-rate, T&M) within the same ERP
- Proven in elevator and mechanical contractor market
Cons
- Requires Microsoft Dynamics ERP — not standalone
- Higher implementation cost and complexity than cloud-native FSM tools
- UI reflects Dynamics heritage — less modern than cloud-native competitors
- Smaller partner and support ecosystem than Salesforce or ServiceMax paths
